Abstract
In the talk, I will provide an overview of some of mathematical problems that arise in the context of computer software industry. This will include designing of online contests, information diffusion, and algorithms for big data. This context asks for a rich set of mathematical techniques including those from the game theory, applied probability, statistical learning, differential equations, and discrete mathematics. The talk should be accessible to anyone, providing a pictorial guide through real-world examples, and giving an idea about the techniques used and interesting end results.
Series This talk is part of the Cambridge Centre for Analysis talks series.
