Abstract
2010, we have succeeded in the synthesis of substituted diaza- and tetraaza¬pentacenes as well as in the synthesis of structurally similar tetraaza- and hexaazahexacenes. Most of these materials are more stable than similar pentacenes and hexacenes. The symmetrical tetraazapentacene has been investigated as electron transporting material in thin film transistors demonstrating high mobilites of up to 3.3 cm2/Vs. Our Pd-catalyzed synthesis of large azaacenes has made multiple new structural motifs now easily accessible.
