Abstract
We warmly invite you to the launch of two linked books:
âĸ Bridging between Research and Practice: Supporting Professional Development through Collaborative Studies of Classroom Teaching with Technology Sense Publishers âĸ Developing Interactive Teaching and Learning Using the IWB : A resource for teachers Open University Press
The first book describes how we have been bridging the gap between academic and classroom cultures with our innovative university-schools research partnerships and joint theory reformulation over several years. The other book offers a practical outcome of this work â a professional learning programme to support classroom dialogue and engaging, interactive whole-class teaching using the interactive whiteboard.
The books will be of interest to a wide audience and we welcome academic colleagues, teacher educators, classroom teachers, professional development leaders, mentors, and school leaders to the launch. Come and find out more about our collaborative approach to educational research and the tips and ideas in the resulting resource for teachers. Some of you might like to stay on after 5.30 to hear about our new ESRC Impact project too.
