Abstract

We live in a time where what we define as work is on the verge of radical transformation. Disruptive technologies, have been promoting automation in all kinds of industries, and “work” as we know it, is disappearing. On the other hand novel post capitalist economic models are emerging, such as the sharing economy and/or the collaborative commons. All around the world, business, sharing and social value are coming together in new and exciting ways.

It is predicted that in the future social and interpersonal skills and creativity will be the crucial set of tools for the jobs of the future. To be creative though, requires effort as it implies a radical shift in our mindset. ”Creativity”, as Matisse once said, ”takes courage”. How can we foster creativity? How to identify our creative dreams that will help us design our future jobs? How to bring creativity to your work environment? And does how gender affect creativity?

These are some of the topics that will be discussed in the seminar, that aims to be interactive and collaborative. I will present some case studies to foster debate and there will be some collaborative activities such as debating circles and games to embody systems thinking.

Maria Lusitano Santos is a London based writer, thought leader, researcher and filmmaker. Maria writes about the sharing economy, post-capitalism, social innovation and futuristic ideas.
