Since its launch in 2008, predictive text app SwiftKey, has grown to become a global phenomenon. Installed on over 300 million smartphones, the app replaces the default keyboard with one that can write words by swiping between characters, memorising the user’s typing habits to predict their next words.
The app was also at the centre of a collaborative project with Professor Stephen Hawking to revolutionise his communication system. The technology now enables him to write and speak with greater ease and for longer periods of time.
In an exclusive CJBS Entrepreneurship Centre event, Co-Founder and CEO , Jon Reynolds, shares his story with Accelerate Cambridge programme mentor and successful Business Angel, Simon Thorpe. Find out how the Cambridge alum’s venture went from start-up to scale-up and how the business was sold to Microsoft earlier this year.
