Abstract
Measuring coalgebras and measuring comodules have been available for a long time now as a means of generalising the concept of morphisms for algebras and modules respectively. The universal property that describes them makes them easy to deal with, but not easy to calculate. We studied the concept of a pre-dual for algebras in the summer 2015 and for modules in the past summer. The pre-dual can be calculated explicitly in suitably finite cases, with intriguing consequences for number fields, for example. The methodology even in cases which are not suitably finite suggests interesting analogues in more general algebras of structures familiar to geometry.
