Abstract
The Japanese “Mingei”(folk art) movement developed during the early 1900s strongly influenced by the seminal work of Yanagi Sōetsu, “The Unknown Craftsman”. Katazome, traditional stencil dyeing, continues in the art of Yunoki Samiro whose 2015 exhibition at the Musée Guimet in Paris attracted great interest.
