Data on the early life stages of Atlantic salmon are frequently collected as part of the ongoing monitoring of freshwater stocking programs and to provide qualitative assessments of the health of the ecosystem. It was the work of my thesis to fit (often complex) Bayesian models to existing datasets using computationally intensive MCMC techniques to provide an evaluation of such quantities as habitat suitability, juvenile survival and migratory survival. The data presented were collected on juvenile salmon populations in the River Conon in the Cromarty Firth, N. E. Scotland
