Hub Location Problem Concerning Multiple Service Levels

Abstract
We study the problem of designing a logistics network by offering different delivery services (for example high (12h), middle (24h), and low (48h)) on each demand point. A network design is proposed which considers the various consumer requirements and different modes of transportation simultaneously to obtain satisfactory hub location-allocation scheme with a minimum cost. To solve the optimization model, a two-stage solution algorithm integrating the modified cross entropy algorithm and the Tabu search algorithm is developed. Some numerical examples are illustrated to validate the efficiency and effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
